Convergence 2008 October 20-22, 2008 Cobo Center, Detroit, Michigan Booth #1213
|
Convergence is the premier one-of-a-kind transportation electronics event where leading executives, engineers and technology experts gather to discuss leading advancements in automotive electronics technology.
| What You Will See |
Atmel will be showcasing the following automotive solutions
- Auto RF Solutions
Atmel offers highly-integrated circuits for battery-powered sensor-gauge and base-station applications in tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS). Atmel's TPMS product portfolio includes a low-power Flash-microcontroller RF-transmitter IC family, a broad range of stand-alone RF-transmitter and LF-receiver ICs that can be combined with a separate microcontroller or smart sensor devices.
For car access applications, Atmel provides a wide range of innovative ICs from immobilizers to full-duplex transceivers perfect for the prevention of automotive theft. Atmel's automotive safety portfolio also features extremely secure Passive Entry Go (PEG) solutions and all devices needed to design a complete car access system solution.
At the show, Atmel will launch a new AVR®-microcontroller-based RF transmitter family for Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) applications, enabling extremely small key fob designs at competitive costs. Thanks to the stacked SiP technology, significant material cost and board area savings, compared to conventional two-chip solutions, can be achieved.
Atmel will also demonstrate a new automotive development kit, representing a single development platform for Atmel's current and future automotive products. This kit provides an efficient and easy way to develop, set-up, and test the capabilities and characteristics of Atmel's key automotive applications including car access (remote keyless entry, passive entry/go, immobilizer, and remote start), tire pressure monitoring systems, and in-vehicle networking including LIN and driver applications.
- Body Electronics
In the ever-growing LIN bus system segment, Atmel offers products at all integration levels from simple transceiver ICs to complex system basis chips (SBC). At higher-integration levels, Atmel's range of AVR microcontrollers coupled with an integrated voltage regulator and watchdog provide complete SBC functionality in a single system-in-package (SiP) module. Due to the advantages of SOI technology, Atmel's LIN solutions provide outstanding electromagnetic immunity (EMI and ESD).
Atmel's driver ICs are capable of reaching environmental temperatures of 150°C and junction temperatures of 200°C, making their use possible in most high-temperature automotive applications. With few external components, Atmel's driver ICs with LIN communication and Atmel's AVR microcontrollers combine to create cost-efficient motor driver modules complete with LIN functionality, which can equally be used in harsh automotive conditions.
At the show, Atmel will launch two new brushless motor driver ICs that open the door to miniature, cost-efficient automotive under-the-hood designs.
Atmel will also demonstrate a system solution for 3-phase brushless DC motor control for turbo charger applications.
- Automotive AVR Microcontrollers
Atmel's well-known AVR microcontrollers are also available as automotive-qualified versions (AEC-Q100 Grade 0, up to 150°C/302°F), featuring a high-performance RISC core and self-programming Flash memory. The product offer includes CAN, LIN, FlexRay™ and motor control solutions.
- Infotainment Solutions
Atmel provides complete GPS solutions for in-vehicle navigation, telematics, fleet management and infotainment. Its single-chip GPS receivers are automotive-qualified according to AEC-Q100.
At the show, Atmel will launch an additional member of its automotive-grade GPS solutions.
For car radio applications, high-quality active antenna ICs and high-performance RF front ends are available.
- Automotive-grade Serial EEPROMs
Within its extensive serial EEPROM product portfolio, Atmel offers automotive-grade serial products in 2-wire, 3-wire, and SPI bus protocols in SOIC, TSSOP, and PDIP packages, all available in environmentally friendly "green" versions.
